Our Story
Built in Fremont for Golfers Who Love the Game
Tilbury Golf Academy started with a simple idea: golfers in Northeast Indiana deserve a place to play, practice, and get better every month of the year, not just when the weather cooperates.
We are a local, family-run academy. Whether you are picking up a club for the first time, grinding toward a lower handicap, or just looking for a fun night out with friends, our team is here to help you enjoy the game.
Every part of the building was designed around that goal, from the TrackMan bays to the Lesson/Fitting studio.
The Facility
Pro Shop, Simulators, and More
Our pro shop offers about 1,500 square feet of retail space stocked with clubs, balls, bags, apparel, and accessories from the brands golfers trust.
Alongside the shop you will find 4 TrackMan simulator bays, 1 private suite for groups and parties, a dedicated club fitting room, and space for lessons and training.

Instruction & Fitting
PGA Coaching for Every Level
Founder Chris Tilbury has been a PGA Member since 2012 and specialized in Teaching and Coaching in 2021. He is a recipient of the Indiana PGA Section's Roger Lundy Youth Player Development Award.
Lessons and fittings are built around TrackMan data, high-speed cameras, and honest feedback, so every session ends with a clear plan for your game.

Chris Tilbury
PGA Professional · Founder
Chris Tilbury became a proud PGA Member in April 2012 and further specialized in Teaching and Coaching through the PGA in 2021. His passion is helping golfers of all abilities elevate their game, creating tailored improvement plans that take into account each player's unique swing, experience level, and physical needs. As a coach for programs like Operation 36, Chris brings a wealth of experience from working with initiatives such as the PGA Junior League, First Tee, and the PGA Sports Academy. He has been twice nominated for the Indiana PGA Junior Player Development Award, and his expertise in club fitting earned him a spot on a Golf Digest Top 100 Fitters team. Chris was born and raised in Fremont, Indiana, where his love for the game started early, competing on both Middle School and High School teams. A 2021 inductee into the Fremont High School Athletic Hall of Fame, He continued his golf career at Bethel University, where he was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018. Chris recently has become the head coach for the Fremont High School boys golf team, and he proudly assists his wife Jessica in coaching the Fremont High School Girls Golf team, giving back to his alma mater. When he's not coaching or on the course, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and son, Kaden. Whether they're golfing together as a family or taking a quick family trip to the most magical place on earth-Walt Disney World. Chris makes the most of every moment.
Jessica Tilbury
Buyer, Founder
Jess was born and raised on Jimmerson Lake in Steuben County. Like her husband, Chris, she began her golf career playing on the Fremont High School girls golf team. She went on to Bethel University, where she was proud to be a founding member of the university’s first women’s golf team, graduating with degrees in Business and Education. Married in 2007, Jess and Chris welcomed their son, Kaden, in 2019. She is grateful to return to Fremont, where her passion for golf began, and coach the Fremont Girls Golf Team alongside Chris. When she’s not at the Academy, Jess enjoys spending time on the lake and, of course, making memories with her family at Walt Disney World.
Mitch Blank
Front Desk
Mitch brings a lifelong passion for golf to our team. A Hillsdale, Michigan native, he graduated from Hillsdale High School ('19) and Trine University ('23), where he played varsity golf and earned a Criminal Justice degree with minors in Political Science, Psychology, and Forensic Psychology. An avid outdoorsman, Mitch also enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Tami.
Randy Tilbury
Front Desk
Randy is Chris’s dad and the person responsible for sparking Chris’s passion for golf at an early age. A retired CPA since spring 2021, Randy also has a passion for woodworking and a background in construction, having learned the trade from his father. He quite literally built Tilbury Golf Academy, completing the construction projects that turned the Academy from a pipe dream into reality. When he’s not at the Academy, Randy enjoys spending time with his wife, Phyllis, or taking his four grandchildren out on the golf course.
Dan Callahan
Front Desk
Dan is a retired high school teacher and compliance officer for Trine University. In a fun twist, he was actually Chris and Jess’s chemistry teacher back in high school! When he’s not at the Academy, Dan enjoys playing golf at Zollners or relaxing poolside with his family.
